For Valentine's Day the wife and I decided to do a cycling workout and then a treadmill run, with the snow starting to fall. It was fun spending the time with her tonight, but man she is fast on the bike!

Question for the blog! What type of workouts gets a runner out of their comfort zone?

Perfect way to spend a valentine's day!

Out of the comfort zone.. For me lately it's finishing LR's with the last few to 4 miles at MP. It gives you the feeling of pushing on really beat legs. Very necessary feeling.

Also for me I can get myself confused on the track. Pushing hard on those last reps (ie. 800's, 1600's) is something I'm not used to recently, too.

I, too, need to do more research on specific types of workouts to do the same.

I like that idea of ending hard, I may have to add that next weekend. If I find anything else in researching this I'll let you know!
