I attempted to run fartleks today. The goal was twenty minutes of thirty seconds fast thirty seconds slow. I warmed up for 5 minutes (.75 miles) then I started the main section of the workout. My legs just did not have it today, I ended up doing only ten minutes of the fartlek workout (1.5 miles) I then continued the rest of the scheduled run at a 7-7:30 pace (1.25 miles). I really got myself out of shape these past two months, but I am looking forward to the challenge of bringing my fitness level back up. |
